As you may remember, last Monday I started a challenge for myself – knitting my first (Very Vogue) cabled sweater. To do that, I use Craftsy class  Custom Cabled Pullovers by Carla Scott to help me.

This is week 2 and I have worked through lesson 2 and lesson 3 of that class. (Actually, I watched it 2 times before I dared to start…)

Custom Cabled Pullovers

Lesson 2 is for taking measurements. Carla is very thorough and making it very clear. She has a model with her at the studio and she will show exactly, what and where you should measure.

Also, there are complete instructions on how to chart your schematics. Very clear and simple. And on class materials you get a printable – for your measures as well as the pattern for a cabled sweater.

Here’s mine (I printed it black and white):

Lesson 3 is for choosing yarn, color and cable stitches. Last time I played with the thought of deep red, white or grey colored yarn. This is what I’ll actually use…

Take a look:

Yup, pink. Fuchsia pink. Very bright pink.

And I’m so happy.

Now, for next time I have a deadline for swatches – all knitted and blocked, ready for show off. I told you that and now I need to keep my word…
