Star Stitch knitting pattern with chart and written instructions

I’ve been asked for the lace pattern I am using to knit my Christmas Comforter. I don’t feel like doing a lot of talking, so – here you go. It’s very easy, quick and effective, and as you can see, perfect for bulky yarn 🙂

Pattern is worked over 6 stitches + additional 2 stitches for edges.

  • k – knit;
  • YO – yarn over;
  • k2tog – knit 2 together;
  • ssk – slip, slip, knit together;
  • sk2p – slip 1 knitwise, knit 2 together, pass slipped stitch over;
  • G – slip 1 knitwise, knit front and back into next stitch, knit 1, pass 1st stitch over 3 stitches you worked last;

Row 1: k1, (YO, sk2p, YO, G) repeat to last stitch, k;
Row 2: purl;
Row 3: YO, (ssk, k1, k2tog, YO, k1, YO) repeat to last 2 stitches, ssk;
Row 4: purl;
Row 5: k1, (G, YO, sk2p, YO) repeat to last stitch, k;
Row 6: purl;
Row 7: k2tog, (YO, k1, YO, ssk, k1, k2tog) repeat to end, YO;
Row 8: purl;

    Thanks for this lovely Christmas Comforter pattern. How many stitches would you say to be cast on for the comforter, or what suggestions do you have please?

      If you’d like to knit the same pattern as I then I would recommend you to wait a bit. I’ll make a pattern available. If you want to use only this star stitch then it really depends on the yarn. Using the same yarn I use, I would recommend about 212 for the Star stitch pattern + edging.
