So you want to make money with knitting? Here are the classes I’ve been through and I recommend:
“How to say it” Edie Eckman – pattern writing for knitters;
“How to teach it” Gwen Bortner – teaching a knitting class;
“Craft photography fundamentals” with Candice Stringham – fantastic for total beginners, super useful;
“Build a successful creative blog” with April Bowles-Olin – everything blog related;
“Double your followers with creative marketing” with April Bowles-Olin – everything marketing;
“Create digital products that sell while you sleep” with April Bowles-Olin – digital products is something you should most definitely learn; By the way, I wrote about it and you can read it here;
“Email marketing for crafters” with Abby Glassenberg – it’s what it says, email marketing;
“Copywriting for crafters” with Lisa Jacobs – how to write product descriptions, sales pages etc;
“The art of selling what you make” with Tara Gentile – well…how to sell your knits…;
“Build a stand-out business” with Tara Gentile – the big picture, very very good class;
Actually, I would recommend anything from April Bowles-Olin and Tara Gentile. They are fantastic and deliver more then you can imagine.
Also, you should learn a bit of accounting and finances. I am an accountant by nature (it means I have learned this and I have papers) so I haven’t been through any online classes. That’s why I can’t really recommend any… But I will update this when I find one I approve of…
If you have a blog and you’re looking to make money with affiliate sales:
Then I’ll recommend Share A Sale – page with different companies to choose from. This way you can only suggest products and services you’ve used and liked.
