Welcome to the section “Learn”. Here you can find knitting basics every beginner as well as experienced knitter might want to learn on knitting. Not only it’s a place to master different knitting techniques but also find answers to your burning knitting questions and to discover knitting supplies from needles to classes.

The purpose of this segment is to further your knitting skills and practice developed habits. Not only can you find new knitting techniques but also old and forgotten knitting skills. For example, you will find out knitting basics like how to cast on and off in different ways, how to attach new yarn and how to wave in yarn ends.

But that’s not all. We will look into the essential elements of lace and cable knitting, work on our tension and discover new and useful tools we’ve never heard of. However complicated some basic knitting technique might seem, we will look into it and find a way to simplify it.

Why? We are doing all this in the hope of taking the fear and stress out of knitting. Remember – knitting was supposed to be fun!

When I was young, I was scared to death of making a mistake or doing things differently. No matter how easy those knitting basics and techniques were, I was paralyzed. Until my Nana told me this:

“There is no right or wrong way of knitting. There are just various ways. That’s what makes knitting so fascinating and engaging.”
