knitted cup cozy pattern

Remember the yarn I promised to burn? Well, I didn’t burn it after all. I couldn’t do it. I’m not the one who would burn yarn. Ever.

So it turns out that this yarn wanted to be a cup cozy. Why do I even talk about cup cozies? Well, it’s because I need my morning coffee and evening tea. I don’t care that it’s summer. I don’t care that it’s not the trend right now.

I’ll give you three patterns and these are very simple one.

You’ll need:

  • some sock or fingering yarn
  • pair of  needles  size 3 mm / US 3

You’ll knit back and forth using knit and purl stitches. Easy.

Cup measurements:

  • circumference 25 cm / 10 inches
  • height 9 cm / 3,5 inches

If your cup is wider – then add 4 stitches for every 1 cm / 0,4 inches.

If your cup height is greater – then add pattern repeats as many as you need.

Now – let’s knit cup warmers.

First pattern:

Sewing: Basically you’ll be sewing sides below the handle of the cup and above the handle of the cup. I sewed sides from “knit 2, purl 2” rows from beginning and at the end. You’ll have to see what works for you best.

That’s it for today. Hope you like it.
