December 2016 at 21:08 Hi, It looks lovely and cosy. I will look out for the pattern. Do you still have the snow? We have just rain and the temperatures vary from freezing to 12degrees C. Silly weather for December. Are you ready for Christmas? Hope you have a lovely Christmas with your family. Keep Warm Tina x Reply PatternDuchess on 13. December 2016 at 07:12 No, unfortunately we don’t. It’s snow in the evening and rain during the day. About -6 to +6 degrees C. But I’m still hoping for white Christmas. 🙂 Oh, and I’m far from ready 😀 Reply Nilda on 12. December 2016 at 21:10 Gorgeous and will be looking forward for the pattern. Thanks so much. I can’t wait for the pattern. 🙂 I’m curious: how do you accomodate for the weight while knitting on straight needles with such a big project? I love straights but my hands fatigue easily with heavy knits. And what’s the best way to wash/block the blanket? Reply PatternDuchess on 15. December 2016 at 17:44 It’s hard, yes. I feel like it is going easier once the blanket is big enough to rest on my legs. You can use circulars too, just knit back and forth – some knitters say it’s better this way. I prefer to wash my knits by hand, soaking and gently pressing the water out. Then I’ll dry it flat, usually right in the middle of my living room floor 🙂 I’m not too worried about blocking – it’s a big item so it kind of sorts itself out.
