knitted Christmas blanket project

Remember my fancy plan for this project? In this post? With knitted blocks and stuff?

Yeah, not going to happen…

After my major knitting block, I decided I want to knit this in full. Yes, I’m sure. And yes, I know that my hands don’t thank me.

But I have a “feeling” again. You know – “that” feeling. The feeling when you’re excited to knit again.

Here’s my progress for now and next time you will see a bit more of the pattern, I hope:

I think it will be a lot easier to knit all at once rather than having all those squares to put together and trying to make them all exactly the same size would be a nightmare (in my humble opinion). I knit a large afghan couple of years ago and it wasn’t bad. I used long cable circulars, but I did stay nice and toasty warm when working on the last part.

I was thinking exactly that – by the time I’ll finish it will be winter and I will be warm 🙂

Very lovely. I avoid seaming whenever possible, since its rather disappointing to finish a major project, then have to spend more effort in hand sewing pieces together. I’m not much of a sewer, lol.

Actually, now I’m feeling relief that I didn’t make blocks. It’s way easier this way 🙂
